Northeast Indiana Harvest of the Month

Parkview’s Youth Well-being team worked with a small local grocery store, Josh’s Jungle, and two farmers, Schmucker’s Produce and The Olde Farmhouse to procure 807 pieces (about 28 bushels) of locally grown winter squash. Varieties included butternut, acorn, carnival, and delicata. All 807 squash were gathered at Parkview’s Center for Healthy Living where they were counted, divvied up, and labeled for delivery to 16 schools throughout northeast Indiana the following week.
